No Medical Exam Life Insurance · NY · NJ · GA · NM

Life insurance with no medical exam.

No needles, no lab work, no doctor's visit. Most no-exam life insurance asks a short list of health questions instead, and many people with common health conditions still qualify.

What "no medical exam" really means

You answer questions. You do not give blood, see a doctor, or wait weeks for lab results.

With fully underwritten life insurance, the company may send a paramedical examiner to take your blood pressure, height and weight, and blood and urine samples, sometimes with an EKG for larger amounts. A no-exam policy skips all of that. You answer a set of health questions, and the company checks your answers against records it already has access to, such as your prescription history.

That check is why honest answers matter. An inaccurate answer can give the company grounds to contest a claim, usually during the first two years of the policy. Answer plainly, and the policy is there for your family when they need it.

Three kinds of no-exam coverage

They differ in how many questions they ask and how much coverage they offer.

Most common

Simplified Issue

A short health questionnaire, no exam. This is how most final expense policies work. Healthy applicants can get full coverage from the first day.

No questions

Guaranteed Issue

No health questions at all, and nobody in the age range is turned down. Amounts are smaller, and a waiting period applies before the full benefit is paid.

For healthier applicants

Accelerated

Some carriers waive the exam on larger term or whole life policies when your records support it. If something raises a question, they may still ask for one.

Who no-exam life insurance fits

  • People with common health conditions. Managed diabetes, high blood pressure, and many other conditions are often coverable with the right carrier
  • People who want it done quickly. No exam to schedule and no lab results to wait for, so decisions often come within days
  • People who dislike needles or doctor visits. For some, that alone is what kept them from getting covered
  • Final expense buyers, ages 50 to 85. Most final expense policies are simplified issue by design

What the health questions usually ask

Every carrier writes its own questions, but most simplified issue applications cover the same ground.

  • Recent hospital stays, nursing home care, or hospice
  • Serious diagnoses such as cancer treatment, a heart attack, or a stroke within the last couple of years
  • Ongoing treatments like kidney dialysis or oxygen use
  • Diabetes complications and how the condition is managed
  • Tobacco use in the last year or more

A "yes" on one carrier's application can be a "no problem" on another's. That is the whole reason to compare before you apply.

The trade-offs, said plainly

  • Lower coverage limits. No-exam final expense plans usually run $5,000 to $25,000. Very large policies often still need an exam
  • Price. For a very healthy person, a fully underwritten policy can cost less, because the exam proves the low risk
  • Waiting periods. Guaranteed issue plans, and some plans for people with health conditions, phase in the full benefit over the first couple of years

No-exam life insurance, answered

Sometimes, for very healthy people buying large policies, because an exam can prove a lower risk. For most final expense buyers, no exam is simply how the coverage is sold. When an exam route is also available, Jorge shows you both prices.
Often, yes. Many carriers accept managed diabetes on a simplified issue plan, and the questions usually focus on complications and how it is treated. Carriers differ, which is why comparing them matters.
A decline from one company does not mean a decline from all of them. Another carrier may ask different questions. And guaranteed issue plans ask none: nobody in the age range is turned down, with a waiting period before the full benefit.
Often within days, depending on the carrier and your answers. There is no exam to schedule and no lab results to wait for.
No-exam final expense plans usually run $5,000 to $25,000. Some term and whole life policies go higher for healthier applicants. Jorge helps you size the amount to what your family would actually face.
